6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 3-for-5 with one double and two runs batted in as the Astros edged the A's 6-4 on Sunday. Gurriel has been invaluable on the defensive side of things lately, playing multiple positions while the team juggles injuries to key players like Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve. But he also has been coming on lately with the bat, going 9-for-25 (.360) over his last six games with three doubles and four runs batted in. With so many offensive weapons on the shelf right now, Gurriel should see plenty of run-producing opportunities in the coming days as he has been elevated to the middle of the batting order.--Joey C - RotoBaller
