6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Michael Chavis has taken home American League Rookie of the Month honors for the month of May. The 23-year-old rookie had looked as if he may be starting to get figured out by big league pitchers before his two-hit performance against the Yankees on Sunday. Overall, Chavis is slashing an impressive .264/.358/.500 along with 10 home runs, 22 runs, 28 RBI and two stolen bases across his first 40 big league games. Couple his eligibility at first, second and third with his production, and you get a player who should be owned in more than the 68 percent of the Yahoo leagues he currently is now.
