BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 5% of leagues
ANALYSIS: 27-year old JaCoby Jones has profiled as a power/speed guy with ground to make up in his plate approach for much of his professional career. In 2019, he has lived up to that profile on the dot with six home runs, six stolen bases (in six tries), and a .242/.312/.418 slash in 153 AB. That line looks nice enough on its own, but the pot is sweetened considerably when considering that over the last two weeks (38 AB), Jones has hit a homer, stolen four bases, and hit for a 1.108 OPS. Beneath the surface, the former LSU Tiger has a plethora of impressive peripherals that demonstrate his quality of work with the bat and his athletic prowess.
Although he is striking out at a very high clip of 30.4% while walking at a modest 7%, Jones has been applying career-best hard and soft contact figures of 41.7% and 13.6% to a voluptuous 41.7% pull rate and 1.05 GB/FB ratio. He has been tearing the leather off of the ball at times too with an exit velocity of 91.7 MPH on an above-average launch angle of 15.9 degrees, netting an ISO of .176 and average HR distance of 415 feet. That is a reputable repertoire when taken into account with the fact that he can run, and he can definitely burn rubber at 28.2 feet in sprinting speed per second. Now that he has reached red-hot status at the plate over the last two weeks, "Juicy J" has more than proven his value in deeper leagues.
