5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta allowed three earned runs in six innings to earn a win Tuesday vs the Diamondbacks. Arrietta had traffic all over the basepaths, he allowed six hits and four walks but managed to escape trouble and earn a quality start. Arrieta had given up five earned runs in each of his previous two starts so the results were better for Arrieta, but he was still haunted by some of the issues that caused those starts. Arrieta is giving up hard contact at a 38 percent rate which is by far a career-high. He's also not generating nearly enough swinging strikes at only 7.5 percent, his lowest mark since 2013. Arrieta is a decent streamer with the right matchup but is far from a must-own player. He'll take on the Nationals in Washington next time out.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
