FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/12/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

There are 12 games on the schedule today, but I will be focusing my research on the eight-game main slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/12/2019. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @Roto_Nate.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Jose Berrios: MIN vs SEA ($9,600)

With all of the good hitting options on the slate, I will be taking Berrios at a reduced price instead of Justin Verlander who is $1,500 more. Berrios has been in good form recently, boasting a 2.33 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings over his last three starts. The Mariners have a 25% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, and Berrios has a 10.4 K/9 against left-handed hitting. The Mariners projected lineup has six out of nine left-handed hitters. We have a high strikeout upside here with a pitcher who has gone more than six innings in eleven of thirteen starts. Berrios has the highest projected point ceiling on the slate.

Danny Duffy: KC vs DET ($6,900)

Duffy allowed two or fewer runs in four of six starts in May. He had another scoreless outing going in his last start, before taking a line drive off of the knee which caused him to start struggling. The Tigers have struggled on offense this season, recording a .306 wOBA versus left-handed pitching. If you feel strongly enough about the high-end hitters on this slate, Duffy is a solid option to free up some salary space.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Freddie Freeman: C-1B, ATL vs PIT ($4,400)

Freeman has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball, hitting five home runs in his last ten games. He has another great opportunity today facing Mitch Keller, who struggled in his first start, allowing six earned runs over four innings. While he is equally good against both handedness, Freeman has slightly better stats against right-handed pitching, with a .423 wOBA and .288 ISO.

Eric Sogard: 2B, TOR at BAL ($2,900)

Sogard came back down to earth in May after a hot start to the season. He has regained his form in the leadoff position as of late, hitting .346 in June with two home runs. Tonight, he should leadoff at the top of a lineup poised to have a good night, facing David Hess and his 7.08 ERA. You can't go wrong stacking either of the cheaper lineups in this game, with Baltimore and Toronto both in good matchups.

Eduardo Escobar: 3B, ARI at PHI ($4,000)

Escobar has been raking over the past week, recording a .450 AVG. He already has a two home run game against the Phillies in this series and should be a low-owned option since he is facing Zach Eflin. I think Escobar will be fine with the way he is hitting the ball, and Eflin has shown potential to have games where he is blown up, or chased early. I will be interested to see if the Diamondbacks can get to him early, and get into a Phillies bullpen that has struggled over the past month with a 4.75 team ERA.

Jonathan Villar: SS, BAL vs TOR ($3,100)

In a situation that can only happen when facing Edwin Jackson, the Orioles may be the top offense on the slate. Jackson allowed six earned runs last start, which LOWERED his ERA. I will be having tons of Orioles exposure, and Villar will be at the top of my list with a .358 wOBA versus right-handed pitching. Some other good options would be Anthony Santander and Steve Wilkerson.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Bryce Harper: OF, PHI vs ARI ($4,100)

Merril Kelly's recent form doesn't concern me, as he has done it against offenses like the Blue Jays and Giants. He has had some rough outings against good teams this season and has struggled on the road with a 6.00 ERA. Harper is in the middle of a seven-game hit streak but hasn't shown much in the name of power numbers. Kelly has allowed his fair share of home runs this season, and Harper could have an opportunity to take him deep tonight. He has hit six of his eleven home runs against right-handed pitching, with seven of them coming at home.

Nelson Cruz: OF, MIN vs SEA ($3,600)

Cruz is coming off a stretch where he hit home runs in four straight games. He will have an opportunity to start another streak tonight, facing lefty Tommy Milone. Cruz has a .450 wOBA and .424 ISO against left-handed pitching. The Mariners may start an opener to combat the right-handed top of the order, but Cruz has hit seven of his eleven home runs this season against right-handed pitching, so the opener shouldn't have that much of an impact on him.
