5 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels extended his scoreless inning streak to 23 on Wednesday versus the Colorado Rockies. Hamels loaded the bases in the first inning, but escaped unharmed and it was smooth sailing from that point on. Over his seven innings pitched, Hamels allowed six hits, zero ones, one walk and struck out nine. The lefty also swung the bat well and was 2-for-3 with a run scored and pair of RBI. Over his last 23 innings, Hamels hasn’t allowed a run and has only allowed 12 hits, four walks and has struck out 23 batters.
