Andrew Benintendi Delivers Three Extra-Base Hits
6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi finished 3-for-4 with two runs batted in, and a run scored during Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. All three hits were of the extra-base type, including two doubles, and a triple. Benintendi tripled in Boston's first run in the third inning, before doubling in another in the fifth. Wednesday marked his eighth straight game where he crossed the plate at least once. Since the full-time move to the second spot in the order, the 24-year-old has hit .318/.388/.545, with seven extra-base hits, five RBI, and eight runs scored. He's still struggling with strikeouts on the year, with a 23 K%, but it's clear he's finding himself at the plate and is becoming a catalyst in Boston's lineup again. While he's hot, he should be in lineups daily, and should be considered a solid DFS option when facing a right-handed pitcher.
