6 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Michael Chavis drove in three runs, on two hits, while also scoring twice in Friday's 13-2 win over Baltimore. It was just his fourth time hitting in the top spot of the batting order, but he helped carry Boston's offense with a two-run homer in the fifth. He's now hit safely in four straight, and his home run was his second in as many days. He's cooled off since his stifling start, but is still hitting a modest .253/.341/.478, with 12 homers and 34 RBI. The Sox continue to find ways to get him in the lineup, but he's only really effective against right-handed pitchers, batting .284 with eight homers. He can remain in lineups while he rides this nice streak, and his power potential gives him some DFS upside in the right matchup.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
