Chris Sale Punches Out 10
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale pitched six innings in Saturday's win, allowing two runs, on six hits, while striking out 10, and walking one. He only surrendered three hits through the first five innings, before allowing both earned runs in the sixth inning. His repertoire was strong, throwing 72 strikes, including 19 swinging strikes. Sale has now struck out at least 10 in eight of his last nine starts. His 3-7 record is obviously not indicative of how he is pitching. However, his 3.49 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 130/21 K/BB is very impressive. He'll square off with the Blue Jays at home on Friday, where he will have a good shot at reaching double digit strikeouts once again.
