5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price lasted five innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out only two and walking none in a 17-inning loss to Minnesota on Tuesday. He only threw 73 pitches, but Price was pulled from the game, to save his arm. It has been an up-and-down June for Price. Through four starts, he's spanned 18 2/3 innings, allowed 10 runs, with a 20/4 K/BB. However, in his previous start he allowed six runs in just 1 1/3 innings, so his month has been solid overall. Nonetheless, these shortened starts may become more frequent as Boston tries to keep the 33-year-old fresh for a postseason run, diminishing his season-long fantasy value. He'll likely get the ball next against the White Sox on Monday or Tuesday, where he will have a solid matchup, but with potential inning limitations, it may be best to stay away from Price.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
