Mookie Betts' Homer Isn't Enough For Boston
6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts hit his 12th home run of the season Tuesday in a 17-inning marathon loss to Minnesota. The long ball was his only hit, but he also drew two walks and stole a base. Betts led off the 13th inning with the go-ahead shot, but Boston's bullpen was unable to hold the lead in the following half inning. He also stranded five of the team's 30 men left on base in the game. On the season, he's hitting .264, with a .843 OPS, 12 HR, and 34 RBI. He's been struggling during June, hitting just .206, but his 16 walks are impressive as the leadoff hitter. He's certainly a high-profile player that will draw some buy-low attention, but he is best kept on your roster until he pulls out of this slump he is in.
