J.D. Martinez Strikes Out Five Times Against Twins
6 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez finished 0-for-8 with five strikeouts in Tuesday's 17-inning loss to Minnesota. This is actually the second time Martinez has fanned that many times in a game, with the first occurrence falling in 2013, as a member of the Houston Astros. It was clearly just a dreadful day for the slugger, who is hitting .290, with a .982 OPS and five homers this month. He'll get a chance to redeem himself Wednesday against the Twins' Kyle Gibson.
