6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez pitched seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, while striking out nine and walking three in Wednesday's 9-4 win over Minnesota. The southpaw also surrendered two solo home runs, marking the fourth straight game he has given up a home run. The Twins tallied all four runs in the first four frames, but Rodriguez was able to limit the damage, while also getting some help from the offense. After a terrible Month of April, the 26-year-old has put together respectable months of May and June. He's now 8-4 with a 4.71 ERA and a 93/25 K/BB. However, a 3.98 FIP points that he's in fact pitching better than his ERA shows. Next, he'll get a favorable matchup with the White Sox on Tuesday, at Fenway, where he has pitched substantially better than on the road, making him a worthy start candidate.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
