6 years agoBoston Red Sox infielder Michael Chavis has now hit safely in nine straight games after finishing 2-for-5 with two runs batted in during Wednesday's win over the Twins. The RBI counted as his first since June 14 and he's slashing just .257/.304/.392 in June. A serious problem is the 31 strikeouts in 79 plate appearances (39 K%) through the month. He will need to continue producing more runs to take the sting away from the high amount of punch outs. On the year, he has 12 homers, and 36 RBI. He'll remain entrenched at first base while Steve Pearce (back) and Mitch Moreland (quad) recover from injuries. His power potential gives him some DFS upside, especially in the midst of a solid hit streak, while his multi-position eligibility make him versatile in season-long leagues.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
