BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 13% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Willie Calhoun announced himself to the world with style, hitting a home run in each of his first two games after being called up. In his first six games up, Calhoun more than accounted for himself - slashing .435/.458/.739 with five runs and seven RBI, in addition to the two round-trippers. With the initial success, Calhoun's ownership was fast on the rise - and then injury struck and he hit the IL with a hamstring injury, subsequentially missing over three weeks. Over this missed time, Calhoun saw his ownership drop to the 13% that it is now, as owners didn't want to wait for an injured and mostly unproven rookie.
While Calhoun hasn't been near as on fire in his six games since returning from injury, the skills and upside remain the same. Since returning, he sports only a 106 wRC+ and .337 wOBA but as Texas heats up - thereby turning his home ballpark of Globe Life into a virtual launching pad - Calhoun's high-contact profile should play up more and more. Calhoun is the shiny new toy that was discarded as soon as he got a tear in his seams. Pick him up now before everyone realizes that this laser-spraying Willie just needed a couple of stitches to be back to his shiny self.
