Chris Sale Overcomes Rough Start
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale allowed five runs over six complete innings, while striking out 10 and walking just one in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the White Sox. Sale surrendered all five runs in the first and third innings, but outside of that he was his normal, filthy self. He generated 20 swinging strikes out of 102 pitches. He's now registered more than 10 punchouts in nine of his last 11 outings. In June, the southpaw is 2-0 with a 2.73 ERA and a 50/5 K/BB. His next start will be on Wednesday against Toronto, whom Sale picked up a no decision against in his previous start. Either way, Sale will be one of the top options against the Blue Jays and should be started with ease.
