5 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz allowed five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over five scoreless innings in a no-decision on Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He threw 66 of his 103 pitches for strikes, hitting a batter while throwing first-pitch strikes to just 11 of the 22 batters he faced. He labored a little, but he wriggled out of trouble at every turn, lowering his ERA from 6.79 to 6.25 as a result of the outing. It's a good start, but he needs to do this on a regular basis before fantasy owners outside of the deepest NL-only leagues can trust him again.--Daniel Dobish
