5 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon is sitting Sunday after leaving Saturday's game early with a strained quad. The 31-year-old injured himself on the basepaths in the third inning yesterday, but should be considered day-to-day. With an off-day Monday, expect Gordon to return when the Cardinals visit town on Tuesday opening up a three-game set. Gordon missed time earlier this year with a wrist injury and hasn't had much success since his return in mid-June. He's stolen just two bases since May 17 and is getting all of his at-bats as the team's ninth hitter. It's not an optimal spot to be in fantasy-wise, but a trade shouldn't be ruled out over the next month, which could help his stock. Tim Beckham is taking his spot in the lineup versus Astros starter Gerrit Cole.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
