5 years agoOttawa Senators defenseman Cody Ceci might be traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs this week in exchange for defenseman Nikita Zaitsev. The holdup on the deal is with Zaitsev, as he would have to waive his no-trade clause, and the Leafs also are on the hook for a $3 million roster bonus on July 1. After those hurdles, expect a deal between the divisional rivals. Ceci tied a career best with 26 points in 2018-19, which is actually twice as many points as Zaitsev. Ceci recorded 142 blocked shots and 120 hits across 74 games, similar to the 139 hits and 151 blocked shots by Zaitsev across 81 contests.--Daniel Dobish
