AL ERA Leader Mike Minor Could Skip All-Star Game
5 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Mike Minor was named to the 2019 American League All-Star Roster on Sunday. He leads the American League with a 2.40 ERA, and he is honored by the selection. However, he said he might consider skipping the game to focus on the second half. "Do I want to pitch? Of course. But I'm also eyeing the division and the team effort that we have to put in. We come back and play Houston right away and I want to be ready for them. I want to talk with (manager Chris Woodward) about it and go over our options," Minor said. He is scheduled to face the Minnesota Twins on Monday, and Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, in a two-start week in the upcoming scoring period.
