5 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales allowed three earned runs, six hits and three walks with five strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Houston Astros on Sunday. He needed 104 pitches to make it through five frames, throwing 67 pitches for strikes. He also threw 14 first-pitch strikes to the 23 batters he faced. Gonzalez still had his best month of the season in terms of wins, going 4-2, and he is 4-1 with a 3.07 ERA across the past five outings. He'll work against the Athletics on Saturday night at T-Mobile Park.--Daniel Dobish
