5 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt allowed two earned runs, five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a road victory on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. He threw 63 of his 94 pitches for strikes, including 15 first-pitch strikes to the 23 batters he faced. Bassitt also uncorked a wild pitch, but he settled down and was able to secure his fifth victory of the season while also getting plenty of run support. He will look to win his season-high third consecutive decision on Saturday in Seattle.--Daniel Dobish
