Tyson Barrie Lands In Toronto Via Blockbuster Deal
5 years agoThe Colorado Avalanche traded defenseman Tyson Barrie, center Alexander Kerfoot and a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday in exchange for center Nazem Kadri, defenseman Calle Rosen and a third-round pick in 2020. The Avalanche will also retain 50 percent of Barrie's average annual value, which is $5.5 million. The Leafs get a tremendous defenseman, something they've been searching for a while, while jettisoning Kadri, who was rather redundant, and had fallen out of favor with undisciplined play, particularly in the playoffs. Barrie will be a fantasy stud in 2019-20.
