6 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar (shoulder) will make one more rehab start with the team's Single-A affiliate before jumping to Double-A Akron. Salazar threw his first rehab innings on Sunday, going 1 2/3 innings, while striking out five. According to the front office, the righty hit 96 mph in the appearance. Salazar hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2017, after missing all of 2018 with the shoulder injury. Still just 29-years-old, the veteran has a chance to help out the Indians in the second half of the season. Whether it be in the rotation or bullpen, it seems the Cleveland front office isn't really sure yet. If he starts, he will immediately gain AL-only value and his success will determine any mixed league value. Regardless, he's likely looking at a late July return at the earliest.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
