Tommy La Stella Exits Game In Sixth
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman Tommy La Stella was removed from Tuesday's game after fouling a ball off his right leg. La Stella was helped off the field and not putting much weight on the leg. La Stella was enjoying a breakout season with a .300 batting average backed up by career-bests in hard contact rate, strikeout percentage, and contact percentage. He was slugging .500 and had 16 home runs after hitting just nine in the past four years combined. Hopefully the injury isn't too serious, but if La Stella can't play tomorrow it may make the most sense for the team to shut him down until after the All-Star break. Andrelton Simmons came into the game at shortstop with Luis Rengifo moving from short to second to replace La Stella.
