5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his seventh save since June 1. Neris needed only 15 pitched to preserve a 2-0 win for the Phillies in the first game of a crucial set against the division-leading Braves. It was a nice bounce-back effort for Neris who was tagged for three runs and a blown save in his last appearance June 27. Coming into the season the Phillies bullpen was as unpredictable as they come, but Neris now has 17 saves while no other Phillie has more than three. David Robertson is on his way back from the injured list but with the way Neris has been pitching, it's hard to envision Robertson taking the closer's job outright. Neris has a 33 percent strikeout rate with a FIP just over three and is a must own closer in fantasy.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
