5 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi (finger) left his start in the fourth inning with an apparent finger injury. Manager Rocco Baldelli and the athletic trainer went out to the mound and were inspecting a finger on his throwing hand. Odorizzi initially stayed in the game and immediately served up a grand slam to Mark Canha before Odorizzi exited the game to be looked at by the training staff. Odorizzi gave up six runs, five earned, in three-plus innings pitched. Odorizzi got off to a nice start to the season but has struggled lately failing to record a quality start since June 9 and sporting an xFIP of 4.37 despite coming into this start with an ERA under three. Odorizzi is currently scheduled to start Sunday vs Texas, but if there is any kind of injury the team will likely shut him down until after the All-Star break.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
