5 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Daniel Mengden allowed five earned runs, eight hits and no walks with two homers allowed and five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. He threw 61 of his 85 pitches for strikes, including 16 first-pitch strikes to the 24 batters he faced. Despite the shaky outing, Mengden has won back-to-back starts for the first time since winning four straight outings from May 15-31, 2018. He'll look to make it three in a row on Sunday in Seattle.--Daniel Dobish
