5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez went five innings, while allowing just one run on four hits in Friday's 9-6 win over Detroit. Rodriguez also fanned four and walked just one in what was his best start in almost a month. Due to a two-hour plus rain delay he only threw 76 pitches, but it was enough for the southpaw to earn his ninth win. Friday also marked his second straight game without allowing a home run, after surrendering eight long balls in six June starts. A 4.09 FIP says that his 4.65 ERA should continue to fall in the future. Rodriguez is 9-4 heading into the All-Star break next week. He'll line up for a start against either the Dodgers or Blue Jays with the latter presenting a much more fantasy relevant matchup.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
