5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello went 5 2/3 innings on Saturday, while allowing six runs on nine hits against Detroit. Porcello fanned five Tigers and walked one but he also allowed two homers in the effort. Crossing the century pitch mark isn't good when you can't get out of the sixth inning, although he did throw 75 strikes. Somehow Porcello still earned the victory, thanks to the Red Sox offense plating 10 runs. The 30-year-old welcomes the forthcoming All-Star break, as he has now allowed at least five runs in each of his last three starts. On the year, he sits at 6-7 with a 5.33 ERA and an 81/31 K/BB over 99 2/3 innings. For fantasy, the hope has about run out for the former Cy Young winner. If you haven't dropped him already, it might be time to part ways and start fresh elsewhere in the second half.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
