William Byron Ends Up Second At Daytona
5 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver William Byron registered a second-place finish at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday in the rain-shortened race. He finished just behind Justin Haley, who registered his first-career Cup Series victory. Byron did not lead a lap, collecting 43 points to enhance his bid for a spot in the 16-car Chase later this season, but he still has much work to go. A victory would have gone a long way. His previous best-ever finish was sixth at Pocono in 2018, and also sixth at Texas back in late March.
