Lance Lynn Faces Tough Test After Break
5 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Lance Lynn will make the first start after the All-Star break Thursday night when the Houston Astros visit Globe Life Park. Lynn was one of the breakout pitchers of the first half with 11 wins, a 3.91 ERA, and 123 strikeouts in 115 innings pitched. Lynn's peripheral stats back up the success as his FIP of 2.98 is almost a full run lower than his ERA. His strikeout rate of 25.7 percent is the highest it's been since he was a rookie in 2011 and his 11.2 swinging strike rate is also a career high. Houston will be a tough draw as they are second in the league in team wOBA but by this point, Lynn has earned the trust of fantasy owners and should be started even against tough competition.
