Jake Arrieta To Start Sunday
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (elbow) will start Sunday against the Nationals, according to manager Gabe Kapler. Arrieta is dealing with a bone spur in his right elbow but apparently feels good enough to try and pitch Sunday. Arrieta has been terrible in his last three starts with a 7.71 ERA and only 12 strikeouts over 16 1/3 innings, which will make him a very risky start in fantasy despite the chance to rest the elbow over the All-Star break. He doesn't need to be owned in most standard-size mixed leagues. Deep league owners will want to watch this start closely to see if he bounces back or struggles again, which could lead to a trip to the injured list.
