Marcus Stroman Takes Loss Despite Tossing Quality Start
5 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings of work during a 4-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday. He struck out seven batters while walking two. Stroman has an uninspiring 5-10 record on the season, but that is a misleading figure. The 28-year-old, who was named an All-Star for the first time in his career this season, has surrendered three earned runs or less in 16 of his 19 starts. Stroman is a serviceable back-end fantasy starter in almost all formats. He offers reliable ratios, but the ineffectiveness of his team hurts his chances of picking up wins. Stroman has a favorable matchup against the Detroit Tigers in his next projected start.
