5 years agoAfter last going deep on May 28th, Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Austin Meadows connected for his 13th home run of the season Sunday night. It came against soft-tossing right-hander Tom Eshelman and gave the Rays a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. They never looked back, besting the Orioles 4-1 and remaining atop the wild-card race; a game and a half over the A’s and four games ahead of the Boston Red Sox. They’ll need Meadows to pick it back up in the second half if they want to keep these potential playoff teams off their heels.--RotoBaller
