5 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Trent Thornton allowed five runs in 1 1/3 innings of work during a 10-8 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Monday. The 25-year-old is carrying an abysmal 12.15 ERA through three starts against the Red Sox this season. Thornton has been wildly inconsistent throughout the campaign. He owns a 3-7 record to go along with a 5.25 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 97/44 K/BB rate. His strikeout upside is promising, but Thornton is tough to trust against any of the elite teams in baseball. Thankfully, he is a valid streaming option in his next projected start against the Detroit Tigers.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
