5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Jean Segura (heel) is not in the lineup against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. Segura was hoping to play through the pain on Sunday against the Pirates but was ultimately unable to and was removed. A return date has not been set yet, but with a two-game series against the Tigers followed by a day off, Segura could sit for four days and return to action on Friday against Atlanta. Scott Kingery will fill in at shortstop on Tuesday and bat leadoff against Detroit lefty Matthew Boyd. Kingery has no hits in his last seven at-bats following a modest five-game hitting streak.--Joseph Magazzinich
