5 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria(plantar fasciitis), took the next step in his rehab today, taking grounders and hitting off a tee for the first time since going on the injured list on July 15. While the Giants have stayed hot since Longoria went down - winning six of their past seven games - they'll certainly welcome him back to the lineup, as Longoria had been on fire in the weeks leading up to his injury. In the nine games he played in July prior, Longoria hit six home runs, with six runs scored and nine RBI. San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy says they will continue to increase his baseball activities, with an eye on progressing to running soon.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
