Matt Olson Homers, Scores Winning Run in Extras
5 years agoMatt Olson crushed a three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning off of Astro's closer Roberto Osuna, after Osuna had been brought in to put out the fire that starter Wade Miley had kindled. Osuna had Olson down 0-2 before serving up a center-cut fastball that the A's slugger did not miss, driving in the two runners that Miley had let on earlier. After the Astros tied the game in the bottom of the ninth, Olson then singled in the 11th, coming around to score what would end up being the deciding run. Over the last month, the A's first baseman has nine home runs, 19 RBI, and 16 runs scored but has a tough test tomorrow against Astros starter, Justin Verlander.
