BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 27% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS:
Kole Calhoun posted a .312 wOBA over the first three months of the season. Since, he’s sporting a .418 wOBA and .342 ISO. He’s up to 23 home runs on the season and finally starting to match his peripherals with a .265 BABIP. He’s hitting behind Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, giving him a ton of RBI opportunities and plenty of pitches to hit.
If you’re looking for a negative, he strikes out just over 20% of the time. It’s certainly not terrible for a guy who’s going to hit 30-40 home runs and can hit bit lefties and righties. He’s plugged into the lineup on an every day basis and will very rarely give you an 0-fer. He’s the perfect outfielder to add for this second half. He’s a veteran that we know isn’t going to get tired as the season wears and we can count on the power to stick around. With nearly half of his home runs against left-handers and the peripherals to back it up, you can deploy Calhoun in any set of match-ups. He’s available in the majority of leagues and makes for a safe second half add.
