Brendan McKay Expected To Start Thursday
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Brendan McKay is expected to be called up and start Thursday at the Red Sox according to Marc Topkin. McKay, who is also a hitting prospect for the Rays, has been dominant in Triple-A this season sporting a 0.93 ERA across 29 innings with 32 strikeouts. McKay has a 12.6 percent swinging-strike rate and a 2.89 FIP in 19 1/3 Big League innings which included taking a perfect game into the sixth inning in his MLB debut June 29. McKay's upside makes him an appealing add in most leagues, though it may be wise to leave him on the bench against a Red Sox lineup that leads the Majors in team on-base percentage.
