5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris pitched a clean ninth inning with one strikeout to pick up a save Tuesday night. Neris has now allowed only two baserunners and no runs over his last five appearances. Neris has had his bad appearances which have his ERA a little high at 3.74, but he strikes out 12.4 batters per nine innings and has an 18.2 percent swinging-strike rate on the season. The Phillies may add another bullpen arm at the deadline, but Neris seems to be the established closer as no one else on the team has more than three saves. Neris is must-own in any format saves are a category and his strikeout ability make him a serviceable points league option as well.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
