5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price needed 94 pitches to get through 4 1/3 innings against the Rays on Tuesday. Price allowed four runs, while scattering nine hits, striking out nine, and walking two. The 33-year-old kept Boston in the game until he allowed two solo home runs in the fifth inning that left the game tied at three. Over his last three starts, Price has allowed 13 runs in 14 1/3 innings, although, his 21/5 K/BB is a positive. It's possible the Red Sox start giving the southpaw an extra day of rest down the stretch, as they will need his services for a playoff run. As of now, Price gets a road matchup with the Yankees on Sunday for his next start. That is a matchup you can fade Price in, especially until he is able to work his way out of this funk.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
