5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello lasted 5 2/3 innings, giving up six runs on nine hits, while striking out seven and walking one in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to Tampa Bay. The 30-year-old never had a hold in this one, letting up five runs through the first two frames. It's been a rough go-at-it for Porcello over the last month. He's allowed at least four runs in six of his last seven starts, and has given up a homer in each of his past six outings. On the plus side, he had a 23/4 K/BB in July. The former Cy Young is 9-8 with a 5.74 ERA on the year, and if you haven't dropped him already, no one would blame you for doing so. If you want to hold onto the hopes of him recovering, the righty will get a slightly easier matchup with the Kansas City Royals on Monday.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
