Edwin Encarnacion Has Fractured Wrist
5 years agoEdwin Encarnacion is the latest Yankee to be bitten by the injury bug after being hit with an 87 mph slider from Red Sox reliever Josh A. Smith in a 9 - 2 Yankees victory on Saturday. While initial x-rays were negative, a CT scan later revealed that Encarnacion's right wrist was indeed fractured. The biggest trade acquisition the Yankees made in 2019, Encarnacion has a .223 AVG in his 157 plate appearances, with a .801 OPS and nine home runs for the Bronx Bombers. More information about his timeline should become available over the next few days but with the trade deadline near in most leagues, Encarnacion owners should be worried and prepare accordingly.
