6 years agoHouston Astros starter Gerrit Cole cruised to victory as the Astros pounded the Rockies 14-3 on Wednesday. Cole (14-5) allowed only two runs on three hits as he punched out 10 hitters en route to his 6th win over his last seven starts. Cole is now 10-0 starts over his last 13 starts and has struck 10-plus batters in eight of those outings. The impending free agent is making a case to break the bank in the offseason and carries a 2.25 ERA since the All-Star break. For the season, Cole has struck out a league-leading 226 hitters through only 156 2/3 innings with a 2.87 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP.--Joey C - RotoBaller
