6 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton is starting and will hit cleanup Friday against the Red Sox. Upton has really struggled recently, going 6-for-51 (.118) over his last 15 games while battling a groin injury. It has been a lost season for the talented slugger and Friday is not a favorable matchup against Boston's left-handed starter Brian Johnson. In 128 at-bats last season against left-handed pitching, the right-handed hitting Upton slashed only .195/.273/.320.
