5 years agoYordan Alvarez was not going to be outdone by fellow rookie slugger Aristides Aquino and matched him by hitting three home runs in a 23-2 humiliation of the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday. This marked the first time in baseball history that two rookies hit three home runs on the same day, and Alvarez's seven RBI on the night brought his total to 51 through his first 45 games, breaking the previous record set by Ted Williams, who had 46 RBI.
