5 years agoHaving given up 19 runs over his last three starts, Masahiro was resurgent on Sunday afternoon, shutting out the Toronto Blue Jays for eight innings before being removed after giving up a weak leadoff single to start the ninth inning. Aroldis Chapman then closed the door, giving Tanaka his seventh win of the season and first since July 20. He only struck out four batters but was completely in control, scattering only four hits while walking none.
