5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun hit his tenth home run of the season Monday night in Toronto. Calhoun now has five home runs in 13 starts since being recalled to the Big League club on July 26. In that time he is slugging .673 with a very high .399 wOBA. On the season Calhoun is making hard contact at a 39.7 percent rate and has carried his good plate discipline to the Majors with a sub-20 percent strikeout rate. He could sit against the occasional lefty, including tonight against Blue Jays left-hander Thomas Pannone, as Calhoun only hits .229 against southpaws but should be owned and started in more leagues than he is.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
